Dragons choose to bowl first at St George's Park

The NWU Dragons won the toss and chose to field first in their CSA One-Day Cup against the Dafabet Warriors at St George’s Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Table-toppers, the Warriors, are unbeaten in three outings. They have collected 10 points from three outings. They defeated the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and WSB Western Province, while their fixture against the DP World Lions was abandoned without a ball bowled due to inclement weather.

The hosts are missing the services of Jordan Hermann. The opener was called up to the Proteas for their outbound T20I tour of New Zealand. The Warriors will lean heavily on Matthew Breetzke's experience in the top order. The Proteas star scored an unbeaten century in their first outing and the hosts will be hopeful that he can continue with his good form.
The hosts also bolstered their bowling stocks with the addition of Gideon Peters into the starting XI. The speedster, who will be making his List A debut for the Warriors, had great campaigns in the 4-Day and T20s for the franchise.
The Dragons, on the other hand, will be missing two of their top middle order batters in Rubin Hermann and Dian Forrester, who are on Proteas duty. The Craig Alexander-coached side brought in the experienced pair Janneman Malan and Raynard van Tonder to cover any holes left by the duo's absence.
A win over the Warriors will lift the Dragons from fifth place to first place. They are currently three points behind the Warriors with seven points from three outings. They have won one match, lost another, and collected two points from a no-result.
