Lamontville Golden Arrows goalkeeper Mandla Ncikazi says he is sticking with Dumisani Msibi in goal even if first choice Thakasani Mbanjwa is waiting in the wings.

“There's one thing I’ve learnt in football, don't fix it, if it's not broken,” said Ncikazi when asked trio explain while Msibi has played the last three matches for Arrows instead of Mbanjwa.

“When I arrived at the club, Msibi was in goals. I've got a record of playing a goalkeeper for 45 games when I was at Arrows, I used one goalkeeper (Ricardo Goss). I am not a fan of the goalkeepers that are alternating.

“So when I arrived, Msibi played and played well.”

Msibi took over from Mbanjwa for the 4-0 win over Chippa United in the first round of the Carling Knockout Cup last month but has since been on the losing side against AmaZulu and Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We are blessed with three good goalkeepers, but the other two will have to wait. If the one that is playing is doing well, we will keep him. And Msibi has got a capacity, the ability to build from the back and Arrows are about that, the ability to play long and short and is also a good quality goalkeeper.

“Mbanjwa is a top goalkeeper. But if the other one is doing well, unfortunately, then he has to wait, but I love the attitude from all the goalkeepers in the club,” added Ncikazi.
