Red Arrows say CAF Cup group stage draw fair, not easy

Zambia’s Red Arrows FC coach Chisi Mbewe has given his reaction to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage draw, barely a week after eliminating Kaizer Chiefs.
The coach for the Airmen told his club’s website that being drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s AS Maniema Union, and the winner of the outstanding qualification tie involving Algeria’s CR Belouizdad, AS Douanes of Mauritania and Guinea’s Hafia FC is fair.

Mbewe said he is confident in his team’s abilities to navigate their way past the group stages but called for sound preparations.
“I think it is a fair but not an easy draw for us, so we need to ensure that we are ready and we qualify to the quarterfinal of the Confederation Cup,” Chisi Mbewe said.
“Looking at the teams that we have been drawn against, the job has now started. We need to ensure that we prepare and qualify for the quarterfinal.”
HOW REDS ARROWS OUSTED KAIZER CHIEFS
The ABSA Cup holders secured their safe passage to the group stages of the second-tier continental cup in dramatic fashion after eliminating Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 via post-match penalties following a one-all tie over two legs.
The Zambians had won the second preliminary round first leg match 1-0 before Chiefs too made use of home ground advantage in the reverse leg on October 32 before eventually succumbing to the post-match penalty lotteries.
Meanwhile, Arrows FC’s most immediate assignment is domestically against Chirundu United this Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium in the MTN Super League Stream B.
