Sunrisers Hyderabad stagger to 22-3 against Lucknow Super Giants

Veteran seamer Mohammad Shami produced a stunning opening spell of 3-0-7-2 as Lucknow Super Giants rocked the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the start of their Tata IPL match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon.

35-year-old Shami had Abhisshek Sharma (0) caught at short third and opening partner Travis Head (7) caught at mid off before seamer Prince Yadav (1-0-1-1) bowled Sunrisers skipper Ishan Kishan (1) as the innings staggered to 11-3 and 22-3 after the Power Play.
Rishabh Pant’s decision to bowl first was paying rich early dividends as Liam Livingstone (12* from 16 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen (one from six) battled to steady the ship in choppy waters – or rather, on a dry and slow pitch which appeared to make batting more awkward than usual at one of the tournament’s traditionally highest scoring venues.
