After a season marked by intense competition, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will face off for the coveted title on Saturday at noon, taking the stage at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

This showdown follows Sundowns' recent 2-0 triumph over Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, a victory that kept their hopes alive for the title. Sundowns made their intentions unmistakable from the outset, with coach Tiro Van Rooyen's squad notching two first-half goals courtesy of Sipho Ngqakabana.

As a result, Sundowns now sit at 69 points, just three behind the Pirates. To clinch the title, Sundowns must defeat Pirates by two clear goals to secure the league on goal difference.

Chippa United 0-2 Orlando Pirates

In their pursuit of their first DDC title, Pirates advanced with a solid 2-0 victory over struggling Chippa United, who remain at the bottom of the table. This win marks a fifth consecutive victory for the Buccaneers, who have not lost a match since their defeat to local rivals Chiefs in the Soweto derby at the end of March. Goals from Mpho Padime and Oratile Rantasi, scored before and after halftime respectively, ensured maximum points for the Pirates.

 

 

Orbit College 4-2 TS Galaxy

Orbit College secured their third consecutive victory, firmly establishing their position in sixth place with a resounding 4-2 win over the erratic TS Galaxy at Dobsonville Stadium. The match was rife with action, starting with Thembinkosi Soko giving Orbit the initial lead, only for Makhama Rantoa to respond with an equalizer.

Orbit then surged ahead, with goals from Lefa Ganabo and Jordan Marks, while Thabang Mahlangu finalized their tally with a late penalty from Lakhama Gqongo, providing the Rockets with a glimmer of consolation.

 

 

Richards Bay FC 3-0 Polokwane City

Richards Bay FC halted a two-match winless streak by defeating the relegation-threatened Polokwane City 3-0 at the Princess Magogo Stadium, climbing to ninth place in the standings. The Natal Rich Boys dominated from the outset, scoring just before halftime through Sanele Simelane's deft finish. The team continued their onslaught, with Khayalethu Ndlangamandla converting a penalty five minutes into the second half, complemented by a goal from Luyanda Khumalo.

Stellenbosch FC 4-0 Marumo Gallants FC

Stellenbosch FC built on their recent win against reigning champions Kaizer Chiefs, decisively defeating Marumo Gallants FC 4-0 at the Lentelus Sportsground. This victory marks back-to-back wins for the two-time champions, solidifying their place in fifth, while Gallants languish in tenth with consecutive losses adding to their woes.

Siwelele FC 2-1 Sekhukhune United

Siwelele FC ensured their grip on third place with a comeback victory, overcoming Sekhukhune United 2-1 at Dobsonville Stadium. After falling behind in the 20th minute to a well-placed shot by promising talent Tlou Lekgau, Siwelele responded after halftime with decisive goals from Tokollo Moiloa and Banele Khumalo, securing three essential points against Babina Noko.

 

 

Durban City 1-3 AmaZulu

In a fierce KwaZulu-Natal derby, AmaZulu emerged victorious, defeating Durban City 3-1 in their penultimate match of the season at Chatsworth Stadium. Under the guidance of Kurt Lentjies, AmaZulu now enjoys back-to-back victories, propelling them into the top eight, while the Team of Choice finds themselves struggling in 13th place.

Golden Arrows 3-5 Magesi FC

Golden Arrows squandered a three-goal lead, capitulating to a stunning 5-3 defeat at the hands of Magesi FC at King Zwelithini Stadium. Abafana Besthende controlled much of the match, with goals from Sphamandla Shangase, Sfundo Shezi, and Andiswa Booysen lighting up their performance.

Despite an own-goal providing Dikwena Tsa Meetse with a brief respite, Magesi clawed their way back, ultimately securing an impressive victory.
