A dismal run by South African Premiership club TS Galaxy stretched to seven losses in eight league matches on Wednesday when they fell 2-1 at home against Polokwane City.

Zimbabwean Juan Mutudza gave seventh-placed City a 17th-minute lead, which Simon Ramadu extended by scoring three minutes into the second half.

Brazilian Igor Salatiel halved the deficit on 82 minutes, but Galaxy could not prevent another defeat after reaching the South African FA Cup final last Sunday.

Galaxy last won in the Premiership on January 21. Subsequently, they have secured just one point from a possible 24. They lie 12th, seven points above the relegation zone with seven rounds left.

"We are experiencing tough times. This was our second match in three days and some of the players were tired," said Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic from Bosnia and Hercegovina.

"It does not get any easier this weekend as we must face in-form Kaizer Chiefs in Johannesburg," he added.
