Real Madrid's Asencio to miss start of season with thigh injury

Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio is set to miss the start of the LaLiga season with a thigh injury.

"He has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the (thigh) of his right leg," said Madrid in a statement on Thursday.

The 23-year-old centre-back will miss between four to six weeks according to Spanish reports.

Jose Mourinho's Madrid kick off their season at Espanyol on 22 August before hosting Real Sociedad on 26 August and Malaga on 30 August.
