Olympic champion Evenepoel to skip Paris-Roubaix

Olympic gold medallist Remco Evenepoel will skip the cobbled Paris-Roubaix one-day race this Sunday and instead focus on his favoured Liege-Bastogne-Liege later this month.
The Belgian Red Bull rider hinted after his impressive third-place showing at the Tour of Flanders at the weekend that he could take part at Paris-Roubaix.
But Red Bull said on Monday he would stick to his original plans and target Liege-Bastogne-Liege, which he won in 2022 and 2023, to be raced on April 27.

"Remco will stay focused on the Ardennes, as planned," a team spokesperson told Belgian television channel Sporza.
"After his impressive debut at the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix is a goal we can consider together in the coming years. But for now, we are sticking to our plan."
Evenepoel had said Paris-Roubaix was not on his schedule but that he was open to the idea.
"I'm leaving the door open, but I think others have already closed it," he said.
