Salahdine Parnasse marked his UFC debut with an impressive and emphatic victory over veteran Dan Hooker in the lightweight main event of a Fight Night at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old Frenchman secured the victory just over two minutes into the first round thanks to a vicious kick to the midriff that buckled Hooker, followed by a left hook that crumpled the ‘Hangman’ to the floor, prompting the referee to intervene before further damage could be inflicted.

“I’m the best fighter in the world,” said Parnasse after the match. He went on to add, “My dream fight is against Max Holloway.”

The co-main event featured two French fighters going head-to-head, as Fares Ziam and Axel Sola met in a lightweight clash.

The highly-anticipated clash lasted just 100 seconds of the first round, before Sola knocked Ziam clean out with a thunderous overhand left.

In the rest of the main card, Guinea-born Losene Keita secured a spectacular KO win over Muhammad Naimov in the featherweight division; Kurtis Campbell submitted Tervor Peek in another featherweight clash; Daniil Donchenko overcame Punahele Soriano via unanimous decision in the welterweight division; and ‘MVP’ Michael ‘Venom’ Page claimed a fourth successive win by outpointing Nursulton Ruziboev in a middleweight match.

Next week brings UFC Noche: Silva v Delgado, from the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on 12 September.
