HISTORIC MOMENT: Scheffler overtakes Woods as top earner

World No 1 Scottie Scheffler has surpassed Tiger Woods as the highest career earner in PGA Tour history after winning the 2026 Tour Championship and securing his second FedExCup title.

The victory at East Lake in Atlanta earned Scheffler $10 million, pushing his career PGA Tour earnings to $130.39 million, ahead of Woods' long-standing total of $120.99 million.

Woods had held the top spot on the PGA Tour's career money list since February 2000, with the record standing for more than 26 years. Scheffler, who has become the dominant figure in men's golf over the past five seasons, reached the milestone at just 30 years old.

While rising prize funds have helped modern players accumulate larger earnings, Scheffler's achievement underlines his remarkable consistency and success on tour. His Tour Championship triumph marked his 22nd PGA Tour victory and capped another outstanding season at the top of the game.
