Warriors through to the CSA T20 Challenge final

The Dafabet Warriors were confirmed as finalists for the CSA T20 Challenge after their match against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins at St George’s Park was washed out on Friday night. They will compete against Goldrush Boland, in Paarl, for the title.
The Warriors and the Dolphins only had 5.3 overs of play before lightning and rain stopped play. The bad weather persisted and the match was called off. According to the rules, the Warriors qualified because they finished in second place in the group stage, ahead of the Dolphins, who were third.
The Dolphins will feel hard done by the weather because they had made a good start to their innings after being asked to bat first by the hosts. The average powerplay total in day-night matches at St George’s Park is 41/2. The visitors had sped to 64/0 in 5.3 overs.
Bryce Parsons (35*) and Khaya Zondo (28*) had given the Dolphins a rollicking start after a watchful first two overs. Zondo got the ball rolling by plundering 19 runs off JP King in the third over. The pair rode the momentum and added another 30 runs off the next 15 deliveries. The visitors looked destined for a big total. Unfortunately for them, the heavens opened up and play had to be stopped.
The Warriors will be hoping that their bowlers will have adjusted their radars when they go up against Boland on Sunday.
