Titans win toss and bat against Warriors in ODC qualifier

The Momentum Multiply Titans won the toss and chose to bat first in their CSA One-Day Cup qualifier against the Dafabet Warriors at Dafabet St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors finished the pool stage second on the log, earning them the right to host the qualifier against the third placed Titans, and the winner will go on to face the table topping DP World Lions in the final at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Speaking at the toss, Titans captain Rivaldo Moonsamy said of his decision to bat first, It’s a nice fresh wicket. It looks good and hopefully we can get some runs early on.”
Warriors captain Matthew de Villiers admitted that they were also leaning towards batting first.
“Normally it’s a good wicket so whoever plays the best cricket today will be the winner,” said De Villiers.
“We just want to focus on what we need to do in the playoff and what we have done well as a team. Hopefully that will be enough for us to make the final.”
For the Warriors they are aiming to make their third straight final of the season, after they won the T20 competition and finished runners-up in the four-day cup, while the Titans are hoping to make their first final of the campaign.
