Ex-Liverpool star Fabinho reunited with Salah at Trabzonspor

Brazilian midfielder Fabinho signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor on Monday, the Turkish club announced, where his former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah has made an impressive start.

The 32-year-old was a free agent after three seasons at Saudi club Al-Ittihad, and will earn 4 million euros ($4.66 million) per year the Black Sea coast club said, a far cry from the 17 million euros they will pay Salah.

Fabinho was one of the key figures behind Monaco's French league title in 2017 before joining Liverpool the following year.

With the Reds, he won the Champions League in 2019, the Premier League in 2020, and the FA Cup in 2022 as one of the cornerstones of Jurgen Klopp's system.

The Egyptian forward, who was welcomed as a hero in Trabzon in early August scored twice on Sunday in his first Turkish league start.

Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish top-flight last season and take on Hungary's Ferencvaros on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League playoff tie, trailing 1-0.
