Milford power on, Casric Stars & City fire blanks

Milford solidified their position at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table this weekend, while Casric Stars and Cape Town City stumbled in their bid to keep up with the pace at the top end of the table.
Sitting at the summit of South Africa’s first division, Milford saw out a gritty 2-1 win over Lerumo Lions on Saturday afternoon.

Milford have now jotted down two wins in a row, with their lead being supplemented by Casric Stars and Cape Town City dropping points in their respective fixtures.
Casric and City took to the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Friday, with the game ending in a 0-0 draw in Mpumalanga.
As it stands, Milford have gathered 33 points after 17 matches, while Casric ended the latest game week in second spot with 30 points to their name.
The Mother City outfit’s five-game winning streak came to an end in the process and now trail log leaders Milford by four points in third.
At the low end of the table, Black Leopards and Baroka played to a tense 1-1 stalemate on Sunday as they continued their battle away from the relegation zone.
As it stands, Black Leopards are rock bottom on 11 points, while Baroka are in 15th spot on 13 points.
