With the international break done and dusted, proceedings in the Motsepe Foundation Championship will commence this weekend with Magesi eager to maintain their unbeaten run at the top of the pile while Real Native remain in line for the summit

Magesi were the team to beat during the early stages of the 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship after claiming four wins and one draw in their first five matches.

Following a 1-1 draw with Hungry Lions last time out, the table toppers will look to re-enter the winning column when they take on NWU at home on Saturday.

NWU, on the other hand, are still waiting for their first win of the season after recording two losses and three draws in the first handful of league ties as they occupy 13th spot currently.

Elsewhere, second-placed Real Native could make it four wins on the spin when they face Hungry Lions away on Saturday.

Formerly known as Casric Stars, Real Native took home maximum points during a 2-0 win over Venda Football Academy during matchday five as they accumulated 12 points for the season, one point behind first position.

As another team on a win streak, third-placed Leicesterford City stands in line to win their third straight win in the league when they face the University of Pretoria on Sunday.

Sitting three points off Magesi, Leicesterford City recorded impressive wins over Gomora United and Midlands Wanderers shortly before the break.

At the bottom of the log, 16th-placed Venda Football Academy are winless this season as they prepare to face Midlands Wanderers away this weekend.

With only one point to their name so far, Venda have secured just the single point this season while Midlands are in 12th spot with a three-match winless streak to their name after suffering a loss to Leicesterford City in their most recent tie.

In 15th place, Orbit College are scheduled to take on Highbury on Saturday, as they likewise search for their first win of the season.

Highbury will enter their next game sitting in fourth position after securing three wins, one draw and one defeat in their previous five league ties.
