Following another exciting round of action in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Magesi recorded their third straight win in the league, while Highbury kept up with the pace at the top end at the table.

Magesi were among the biggest winners in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this weekend following a 3-1 away win over Leicesterford City on Saturday afternoon.

Their victory during matchday three came after back-to-back wins over Midlands Wanderers and The Bees as they sit on nine points from three matches.

Highbury likewise maintained their winning streak in the league after a tense 1-0 victory over Upington City on Saturday.

After seeing off The Bees and Hope FC in their prior fixtures, Highbury remained as one of two sides who have won all their league games so far.

Hope FC, who were eager to bounce back from their loss to Highbury last week, recorded a 1-0 away win over NWH on Saturday.

Clayton Daniel’s side have now secured two wins in the Motsepe Foundation Championship as they hope to make an impression in their first season in South Africa’s first division.

On Sunday, Cape Town City earned their first win of the season via a 2-1 victory over Hungry Lions on home soil.

Hungry Lions on the other hand remain winless on their course after recording back-to-back draws with Gomora United and Orbit College during the month of August.

Elsewhere, Gomora United stitched together their second win in a row following a slender 1-0 victory over The Bees on Sunday as they built on their 1-0 win over Venda Football Academy last time out.
